Bombay HC grants bail to Sooraj Pancholi after three weeks, seizes passport

The Bombay High Court granted Sooraj Pancholi bail on Monday on a surety of 50,000. He was arrested on June 10 on charges of abetting actress Jiah Khan’s suicide.
A friend of Sooraj present in the court during the verdict revealed, “The court asked his family to surrender his passport. He has been asked not to leave the country until the investigations are completed. He will also have to report to the Juhu police station regularly as per the court formalities. It’s sad that he’s been treated as a criminal but we are happy that he will finally be home.”
While mother Zarina and sister Sana were present in the court, father Aditya didn’t show up. Wonder if it was to avoid the press… after all, he had gotten into a scuffle with the press at Jiah’s funeral, too. “Our source adds, “He didn’t want to face the press at the moment. At least till he returns home. With tempers flaring, it’s not the right time.”
    A relieved Zarina told Bombay
Times, “I am very happy. Sooraj asked me not to come to the jail to fetch him, I don’t know why. But I will be going anyway.” The mother was busy finishing the paperwork and court formalities and thus, couldn’t talk much. We are told, she will have to finish the procedure at Arthur Road jail before 5 pm on the same day for Sooraj to be released as soon as possible.
Our source alleged, “Once Sooraj is home, matter sorted, the Pancholis will think about taking legal action against Rabiya.”
