Ever since the trailer of Satyameva Jayate released, there has been a lot of buzz around the ’90s hit, Dilbar, featuring in the film. The iconic number from Sirf Tum (1999), which featured Sushmita Sen and Sanjay Kapoor, has been recreated with an Arabic touch for John Abraham’s action thriller, directed by Milap Milan Zaveri.

The song, which releases today, features Nora Fatehi showcasing her impressive belly dancing talent. And it seems, the actress had to rehearse for 10 days to get her moves right. Recreated by composer Tanishk Bagchi, the track has been sung by Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali. Not just that, Bagchi has retained Alka Yagnik’s voice from the original composition, too. The lyrics have been penned by Shabbir Ahmed.

Revealing the idea behind recreating the hit number, producer Nikkhil Advani says, “I believe that Nora’s belly dance on this iconic track will redefine its genre. My brief to choreographer Adil Sheikh was to create a clutterbreaking dance number. I think he has surpassed all my expectations. Dilbar is going to give the audience one more reason to watch Satyameva Jayate.”

Producer Bhushan Kumar adds, “I remember how the song was an instant hit when it released 1999. I have been wanting to recreate it with modern notes for a long time. The song is part of an important sequence in the film and the Arabic theme has lent it a magical feel.”

Apart from John, the movie stars Manoj Bajpayee, Amruta Khanvilkar and debutante Aisha Sharma in significant roles.

Satyameva Jayate, produced by T-Series and Emmay Entertainment, releases on August 15.
